Jeffrey D. Cardwell serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Norristown Area School District, bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in K-12 education. He began his career in education with the School District of Philadelphia, progressing from Executive Director of Facility and Building Operations to Deputy Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Cardwell later transitioned to Pottsgrove School District as the Director of Facilities and Building Operations, and subsequently to the Montgomery Intermediate Unit as Assistant Director of Facility and Operations, where he gained valuable experience supporting county-wide educational facility initiatives. Since joining the Norristown Area School District in 2023, Mr. Cardwell has been instrumental in implementing strategic initiatives that align with the district?s mission of providing high-quality education for all students. In addition to his K-12 operational expertise, Mr. Cardwell has a strong background in municipal government, having held various roles with the Fairmount Park Commission and the Philadelphia Recreation Department, as well as serving as Deputy Commissioner of Philadelphia Public Works. As COO, he oversees a wide range of functions, including facilities management, transportation, capital programs, real estate management, and school safety. He is dedicated to fostering effective collaboration across departments to enhance educational excellence.
