With a degree in Architecture, a background in construction, and a penchant for pushing the boundaries of new technologies, Mr. Lowe is leading the way in the building industry. He literally helped write the book on Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a contributing author to “Mastering Autodesk Revit Architecture: 2011 & 2012” and has consulted on several BIM and facility management technologies. In 2016, he co-founded AkitaBox: a SaaS application for proactive building management. AkitaBox offers a new visual way to maintain facilities that help customers improve operational efficiency and reduce risk in their facilities by delivering real-world data of customers’ built environments. Josh has worked with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology for over 15 years. He has played an instrumental role in all aspects ranging from data acquisition, visualization, and development on over 10 million square feet of local Government facilities. Josh has been responsible for the process development for the generation of 2D and 3D design and drawings of building systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, using Revit for local Government clients. These designs and drawings have been used for report generation leading to increases in internal efficiency, space utilization as well as an increase in funding. Josh is also a contributing speaker at Autodesk University and North American Revit Technology Conference. As Chief Solution Engineer at AkitaBox, Josh and his team are focused on achieving data visualization and accuracy, integrating datasets into existing client’s programs and developing new strategies for compliance in the local Government field. Josh's goal is to support Akitabox customers as they pioneer new applications for data collection and visualization.
