Dr. Sharon Jaye is the Policy Manager for the Energize Denver Building Performance Policy for the City and County of Denver within the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency. She leads the team that is implementing the first existing buildings energy efficiency performance policy in Denver. With Denver being the 5th city in the country to pass this type of legislation, she spent the previous three years working for the District of Columbia?s Department of Energy and Environment to implement the first performance policy in the country. She has more than 20 years of experience in project/facilities management and implementing sustainable operations in public and private K-12 schools and higher education institutions. She has a bachelor?s degree in business administration from Clayton State University, a master?s degree in project management from the University of Wisconsin Platteville, and a doctorate of education in educational leadership from Argosy University. Her dissertation on benchmarking greenhouse gas emission inventories in higher education was published in the International Journal of Facility Management. She is a Sustainability Facility Professional through the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), authored IFMA?s How-to Guide on Carbon Footprinting, and co-wrote their How-to Guide on Waste Management. Sharon is an avid reader (you?ll never find her without her Kindle) and loves dancing and going to local live music venues. She has a goal of visiting all 50 US States (she?s at 43 right now) and her eventual bucket list is to visit all of the places in the book ?1000 Places to See Before You Die?.
